TO LAVOLA,ZOLA AND MAURICE AND LISHA, YOU HAVE MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY DURING YOUR TIME OF BEREAVEMENT.

I was so shocked and sadden to hear of Maurice's death today. He was my daughter’s bus driver for several years. I want his family to know what a wonderful bus driver and special person he was to us. Maurice went out of his way to help us with any problems that we had. When my daughter had a bullying problem, Maurice would make that child sit up front by him for the rest of the school year. Through all of her broken bones and crutches, he would take the time to help her on and off the bus, no matter how long it would take him. There were times when he would have to pick her up to help her on and off the bus. Every time we would talk, he would be smiling and always so happy. He was the nicest person ever. It is so hard to understand why someone as sweet and caring as Maurice would be taken away from us. He will be remembered and live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
With Our Deepest Sympathy,

Mr. Holmes came to drive school bus on James Island under my leadership in year 2005. I quickly realized he had an unique way about how he viewed and said things. If he was here today, I know personally, he would say to his family "This is not about you, so why are you crying?" Please don't cry for me, or shed a tear, for this is the only way I could escape "MY" pain.
I remember needed several routes cover at once. Mr. Holmes offered to drive them all, knowing he would not get the children to school on time. This was the dedication he displayed not only to me, but others as well. Out of all the drivers, he truly had my back. Whenever my children needed a male role model, Mr. Holmes always stepped up to the plate. This was the kind of man he was, he would speak to them as if he was talking to his own. We also shared opinions and advice about possible solutions regarding our disagreement with our mate as well as each other. When I left James Island, we continued to communicate. As you could see, Mr. Holmes will greatly be missed by me. May God bless this family in times of sorrow.
Sincerely,

To the Holmes family, Melissa and Maurice, I was sad to hear the news that Mr. Maurice had passed. He was always smiling when he dropped off and picked up the students at James Island Elementary. He was always happy to see his son, Maurice, at the end of the day. Maurice would climb the steps of his daddy's bus and get a big hug. We will miss him. Sincerely, Joan Appleget

I was sadden to read of your loss. I too have loss dear love ones in death. But my true comfort came from above. As 2 Corinthians 1:3 states, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort." This helps us to appreciate that God can help his faithful servants to endure any problem or challenge. Please look to him to bring true comfort at this sad time. I am again sorrow about your loss.
