Mattie Boone Floyd Mt. Pleasant - Mattie Boone Floyd, 92, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Charles Preston Floyd, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 11, 2017. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mattie was born May 19, 1925 in Rowesville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Sinkler Ratio Boone and Mattie Syfrett Boone. She was a former member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Rowesville, and currently a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Charleston. Mattie was a past member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Exchange Club of Charleston. She was an avid bridge player and a member of many bridge groups. Mattie also enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with her family and friends. Mattie or "Nee", as she was affectionately known by many, was a loving, compassionate and remarkable daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and a true southern lady. She was dearly loved and will be missed. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lockwood (Jerry) of Mount Pleasant, SC; her sister Rosa Hughes of Fayetteville, NC; her brother, Vance Boone (Terry) of Rowesville, SC; and her granddaughter, Allison Lockwood (Jason Kositz) of Mount Pleasant, SC.
