Lindsey, you don't know me, but I almost feel that I know you. Matthew did my hair for most of the 16 years I lived in Mt. Pleasant, and I miss his wonderful haircuts every day. I could tell from our many conversations how much he loved you and your life together. I only just found out that he has gone, but I wanted you to know how much I admired his lovely spirit and upbeat attitude. I am truly sorry for your loss and wish you good things for the future.

Those who knew Matthew remember his infectious personality and spirit. He always knew how to have a good time and never missed a moment to be spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed late night bike rides and frisbee golf in the streets of Chevy Chase, sitting around the house listening to good music, dancing and enjoying life. His creativity was displayed not only through his profession as a hair stylist but also through his entire being. His love for all UK sports was apparent and he was convinced UK was a football school! Matthew played baseball for Eastern Little League, Henry Clay High School and the University of Kentucky. Although he will truly be missed, his legacy and spirit will live on in all of us.
