FIELDS, Matthew The relatives and friends of Mr. Mathew Edison Fields, those of his wife, Mrs. LaNell Fields, his step-daughters, Ms. Anita Holmes and Ms. Saderia Holmes, his step-granddaughter, Ms. Jazmine Brown, his sisters, Mrs. Katherine Thomas of Jersey City, NJ; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Grace Fields; his special nieces, Mrs. Robin "Gail" Hemingway. Mrs. Quiteya Speights and Mrs. Terri Rivers; his special friends, Mae, Craig, Jane, Rosanna and Virgie; nieces, nephews, and cousins, are invited to attend his memorial services on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 6 p.m. in William A. Holmes Memorial Chapel, 2336 Meeting Street Road, North Charleston, SC. Viewing from 12 noon until time of service. Online memorial messages may be sent to the family at ww.suburbanfuneralhome.com. To Gail and Family Members:
We offer you our most sincere condolences during this time of bereavement. Mathew will always be remembered by the owners and staff of Alternative Staffing, Inc. He was the first to arrive in the morning and the last to leave with Jan in the evening. His sense of humor kept him going. We were his family away from home. We will treasure the many years of good times we had together. It will never be the same without him. For the past three years he has been sick, but he never gave up. We all loved him and now he is resting in peace.

I have worked with Matthew since Jan. of 2001. He's always kept me laughing and sometimes crying especially when I would tell him something about Jan that I didn't want repeated and he'd tell her as soon as he hung the phone up. We've had lots of fun listening and telling of eachothers ailments and surgerys. He was also a great designated driver. I will miss him dearly.
