Matthew Creel Obituary

Matthew Calvin Creel RIDGEVILLE, SC - Matthew Calvin Creel, 73, of Ridgeville, husband of 35 years to Pearl Vivian Creel, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Trident Medical Center. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock Saturday evening. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 2 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Givhans Pentecostal Holiness Church, 116 Eagle Drive, Ridgeville, SC 29472 Mr. Creel was born June 15, 1939 in Ridgeville, son of the late Marion and Lula Bell Creel. He attended Dorchester County Schools. He was a self employed contractor who enjoyed attending church, singing, building houses and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was Chief of the Edisto Tribe for 20 years and a active member in the community. Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons: Michael Creel (Lesley) of North Charleston, Matthew Creel, Jr. (Helen) of Ridgeville and one daughter: Jillian Creel of Ridgeville, four grandchildren: Sarah Creel of North Charleston, Corey Creel, Matthew Creel, III and Jasmine Creel all of Ridgeville, three brothers: Marion Creel of Swansea, Stephen Creel of Ladson and Marvin Creel of Ridgeville, two sisters: Tillie Muckelvaney and Mary Green of Ridgeville. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters: Horace Creel, Carlos Creel, Lillie Creel and Lila Radabaugh, several nieces and nephews.
