Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this holiday season and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Matthieu Marcellus US Marine Corporal.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

I proudly ran for Cpl. Marcellus today in Tampa's Run for the Fallen. I was honored to do so and his family will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. He sounds remarkable and I'm sure he would have put a smile on my face as he did for so many. I think he would appreciate that I'm a Gator too! I am truly thankful for him and his willingness to protect me and my family.

"Super Cam" was and always will be Mathieu Marcellus to me. My best friend and big brother that I was blessed with during my years at university of Florida. He told me with great excitement his plan to join the marines, and showed me his new tattoo. I gave him my full support and am so proud of him and will never forget him. He inspired me to grow and see the errors in my ways, just by being himself. He motivated me to shoot for my dreams and be a man of faith. He drove with me home to NJ after leaving college and that was the last time I saw him. But his presence has never left me. He gave me precious life knowledge that the university never could. Knowledge I'm so grateful for today. I still talk to you, I still play our songs during my workouts, I miss you brother. Love you man. Rest in peace my friend. - "G-money"

I miss you, Matt. I was explaining to my 5 year old son what Memorial Day is for, and showed him your picture. I read him a story last night, and there was a person named Matt. He said, "Matt, like your brother!" (He was referring to you) I corrected him, and told him we used to work together at Toys R Us. Now he thinks we're even cooler. I love that he now knows your name, and who you are. We will never forget.

It is so hard to believe we are at our 6th anniversary of the most painful day of our lives. Time hasn't eased the pain, I think we've just had to adjust to living with it. Our loved ones will always be treasures of our heart, but losing them was like losing a piece of our self. Yet, we must go on and carry them with us wherever we go and celebrate their life along the way. They will never be forgotten!

Please know your family and friends remain in our prayers and we will never forget Cpl. Marcellus sacrifice.

Here we are at the 5th anniversary; an anniversary that none of us wanted to have. As our hearts continue to ache for our loved ones, we all have had to find our way through the grief and learn how to deal with the loss in our own way. For my family, it is our faith in God and knowing that He is in control and nothing surprises Him, that helps us through each day. The support of family, friends, community and the prayers of people we may never meet keeps us going. And through it all, we continue to celebrate Nic's life and he remains a part of our lives each and every day. My family continues to pray for you & your families and be assured we will never forget the sacrifice Cpl. Marcellus made. God Bless!

I served with Cpl. Marcellus prior to my retirement from the USMC. I remember that very first day he walked into my office thinking, here is an exceptional individual that is going to make a very good Marine. My last day prior to my retirement Cpl Marcellus once again entered my office to wish me luck outside the Corps. I told him how proud I was of all he had accomplished to that point and that in my opinion he could "accomplish anything he set his mind to". Cpl Marcellus was truly a gift to all those that had the pleasure of knowing him. He will forever be missed. As I reflect back on my Marine Corps career, my memories of Cpl Marcellus are very positive and uplifting. He will be thought of today and everyday. Semper Fidelis!

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

My Sweet husband, and very close friend, my provider and so much more, you are deeply missed. It's hard to imagine that you are gone. I miss your laugh, your smile, your lips. God is truly Awesome and is giving me strength from day to day, because it's not easy going on without you, we shared so much, planned so much. I was looking forward to our reunion, (6 long months) I was crushed when I realized that the reunion we planned would not come to pass. We all miss you so much!! You have touched my life so, words can't explain how our marriage has impact our lives and my life personally. I love you Matthieu!, what a loyal and faithful servant you have been, God is well pleased and so am I. I still sit and laugh to myself about the jokes and impersonations you did so frequently when we met in Djibouti. So yes I am smiling and laughing, and one day we will meet again. Your smile brings me comfort and again I see your face, and hear your laughter when I close my eyes. What a great gift God gave to us, each other. I love you my angel, your sweet heart, your wife, Donna Marie Marcellus

As an active member of the U.S. Navy. I am constantly reminded of the dangers, the sacrifices, and hardships we all endure, but every single person that pays the ultimate sacrifice upon the altar of freedom that we as Americans enjoy every day, I am both saddened and supremely proud of their great love for country and humanity. Matt loved his family deeply and I know that if this was his decision

he would not want to leave them, but someone else had a bigger and better plan for him. Rest In Peace

Matt...Gone but not forgotten.

Matt was a very positive person who put a new spin on my life when I met him. He embodied every positive characteristic that anyone could ask for in a Marine and a friend. I had deployed with him to Africa when he first checked in the unit and I couldn't have asked for a better person to come with us. Matt, Donnie and I occupied the same work space, in which, we all kept each other entertained with our ideas and experiences. As long as Matt was around, our work space became an oasis within a busy deployment. I miss him dearly and I extend to his Family and Friends my deepest sympathy.

Dearest Donna and family,

I guess you were just on my mind today, and I typed Matt's name in on Google. Of course this site came up. There is nothing more that I can add to all the previous messages except to say that we love you, we miss him, and I am proud to be the "Jomomma" of your Matt. You are in my heart and our prayers, and you know that you can pick up the phone and call.

Our love and prayers,

Jojo and Darlene, and all of

In the summer of 2002, I meet a young man that had been standing outside my office for two days. Finally I asked him if I could help him. He said he wanted to be one of the finest a U.S. MARINE. The way he carried himself I thought he was already in the military. I not only recruited him but he was my friend and we stayed in touch. As a recruiter I met many people. There was something about Matt that instantly made me feel I had known him a long time,

Dear Family and Friends,

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your son and friend. Although I did not know him personally, he is part of our family--my husband is also stationed here at New River. Your Son will always be in our Marine Family! May God Bless you with strength and peace.

To Donna and the Marcellus Family,

I used to think Matt and I shared something special. A sort of innocent love affair. It wasn't until he passed away that I realized he had the same affect on everyone. Matt was one of the first people at HMH-464 to become a real friend to me. He sort of made being here a little easier. Everyday, I knew I was going to come to work and some time throughout the work day would be greeted with an , oh so, infection smile from Matt. He brightened so many of my darkest days. Seeing him smile instantly made me feel like my problems were insignificant. On the day that they told us the victims of the crash, he was the last name that was called and my heart shattered instantly. Donna, I know what losing him did to me, a friend, so I can only imagine what effect it had on you. I am truely sorry for your loss. My heart and my prayers will be with you forever.

Marcellus Family,

I am truly sorry for your loss, it was an honor to serve along side Cpl Marcellus. His smile and laugh were contagious, and it lifted everyone's spirits around him. SUPERCAM is a teammate to some of us and a brother to all the rest. May you not only mourn our brother Marine but also celebrate his life as we are. He will never be forgotten!

Dear Marcellus Family,

Even though we have never met I feel as if we are part of a “family”. My daughter’s fiancee was killed by an IED in Iraq in Oct. 3, 2005. It is my prayer that God will hold you as close to His heart as He has held my family these past months. May you feel His love and comfort as you pass through these difficult days.

God bless our Marines,

To the Marcellus family:

I am also a Marine that was assigned to Camp Lemonier, Djibouti Africa. I left Djibouti about two weeks ago. During my tour there I had the privilege of meeting many outstanding individuals like Matthieu. He was not only an outstanding Marine, he was also a stellar athlete, a great friend and an all around wonderful person. Whether we were trash talking about playing flag football, or just engaging in random leisurely conversation, Matthieu was real. He had the type of realness that is definitely a breath of fresh air in this pretentious world that we live in. He will sincerely be missed, but never forgotten.

Very respectfully,

Cpl. Robert Pugh
