Mary Delores Irwin Wrenn CHARLESTON - Mary Delores Irwin Wrenn, 93, of Charleston, widow of the late Charles E. Wrenn (married 52 years), entered into eternal rest Friday January 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Nativity Catholic Church, 1061 Folly Road, James Island. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited 5:00 PM Friday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Irwin. A graduate of Memminger High School in Charleston, Mrs. Wrenn was an accountant for numerous local car dealerships over the years. Upon retirement, she started a Wedding and Event Catering Company with the late Lucy Campbell, performing this service at many functions in the Charleston Area and Florida. Mrs. Wrenn was a Member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, and later the newly-constructed Nativity Roman Catholic Church on James Island, where she was a Lay Eucharistic Minister and served on numerous church committees. Mrs. Wrenn was a member of the Memminger Girls Alumni Luncheon Group, the Leisure Club of Nativity Church, and the Senior Citizens Coalition. She was also a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Does Drove #231 and The Red Hat Society. Mrs. Wrenn was an avid bowler, wining numerous trophies and American Bowling Congress awards. She was known as "Delores" by her numerous friends and coworkers and affectionately as "Lolo" by family members. Mrs. Wrenn was predeceased by brothers John J. Irwin, Jr. (Cecilia), George Irwin (Beulah), Eugene Irwin (Dero), and sisters Lillie I. Crouch (Carroll), and Francis I. Blanchard (Jack Fry). Surviving are sisters Charlotte I. Hanna (the late Ronald Hanna, Sr.) of James Island, and Shirley I. Hanlon (the late Regis Hanlon} of Pittsburgh, PA and numerous loving nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. A debt of gratitude is owed to the staff at Indigo Hall Assisted Living and Memory Care for their excellent and compassionate care of "Lolo". The family would also like to thank MUSC Health Hospice at Home by Bayada for their compassionate care of Delores during her final days.
