To Marty, Weezy, and Kenny,
I remember each of you and your parents when you lived in Hanahan. I was your babysitter when I was a teenager. Later y'all moved to Darlington. I was able to visit you there. I was an adult then and expecting a baby. I stayed with y'all for a week. It was my summer vacation from work. I remember going swimming at a pool with you. One day we took a day trip to see Marty. Lovely memories. Your mama and daddy were very special to me. I just saw that your parents have passed and wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and praying for you. May Our Lord bless you all and your families all the days of you life....

Mary was a faithful friend and was everyone's definition of a true lady. She didn't have to tell you she was a Christian (although she often did) because her life exhibited her Christianity. When I called her, she made me feel as if she had waited all day just to hear from me. Many of her friends have said the same thing! She was an humble lady yet loved attention. God bless her family. Reverand Wardlaw and his wife Mary were the pastor/wife at our family's church growing up in Hanahan, SC (Yeaman's Park Presbyterian). Mrs. Wardlaw was always attentive to the youth of our church. Several years later when I went to the University of SC in Columbia, I went to the church several times during my time there. They were both very kind to me and caring.

These two folks were the "salt of the earth," very responsible and accountable people who loved community and Christian ways.

May peace be with you as Mary joins her partner in heaven.

Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy for your loss. She was the very best of friends to me for many years and I will miss her terribly. Walking in the early morning at the mall will never be the same without Mary.
