Mary Thornley Obituary

Mary W. Thornley MACEDONIA - Mary Margaret Wiggins Thornley, 90, of Macedonia, SC, widow of Marion L. Thornley, died Thursday morning in a St. Stephen nursing home. Her funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon, January 24, 2010, in the Macedonia Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. this Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Macedonia Christian Church, 1165 Betsy Hole Road, Bonneau, SC 29431. Mrs. Thornley was born July 13, 1919, in Bonneau, SC, a daughter of Sam B. Wiggins and Lanie Wyndham Wiggins. She was Valedictorian of the Macedonia High School Class of 1936, and she was a member of the Macedonia Christian Church. Mrs. Thornley was preceded in death by a daughter, June Thornley, and a son, Darrell Thornley. Surviving are, a daughter, Karen T. Hindman and her husband, Bill, of Macedonia; two sons, Commer Thornley and his wife, Dorothy, of Clinton, MD, and Rusty Thornley and his wife, Janice, of Manhattan, KS; a sister, Louise Bradley of Alvin; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. To the children: We loved Mrs. Mary & Mr. Marion so much and all of you. We were at Macedonia as the Minister in the early 60's - had Lawrence and Teresa when we moved there and then added Etheridige and Erwin while we were there. Please accept our condolences.
