Mary Thompson Mt. Pleasant - Mary Hollingsworth Thompson, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Jackson "Jackie" Bryant Thompson, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Her Life at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00AM. Mary was born April 4, 1948 in Columbia, SC, daughter of the late Arnold F. Hollingsworth and the late Mary Hollingsworth. She loved music and cheering on the Gamecocks on Saturday. She had a passion for birds and loved spending time with her "Honi Bird". She is survived by her husband, Jackie Bryant Thompson; three children, Jackie Wells-Lindstrom and her husband, Todd of Hilton Head, SC, Patrick Gaines and his wife, Karla of Costa Rica, and Kellie Gaines of Las Vegas, Nevada; several grandchildren, Ashley Nichole Aragona and husband, Angelo of Simpsonville, SC, Bryant Crane, Paxton, Madelyne, Chloe, Tucker, Gavin, and Trevor; and great-grandson, Jack; three brothers, Jim Hollingsworth, Freddie Hollingsworth, and Ernie Hollingsworth; and one sister, Teretha Hollingsworth McDaniel. She was preceded in death by a brother, Will Hollingsworth. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Home Health, East Cooper Hospital, Dr. Susan Jones MDVIP, and all the wonderful doctors that cared for her. Also a special thanks to Grover, Donna and Michael Croft for their love and support over the years.
