Mary Strickland Summerville - Mary Russell Strickland, 65, of Summerville, SC, wife of Marshall Strickland, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019. Funeral Services will be Wednesday morning, January 23, 2019 at 11 o'clock at Miles Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted. Mary was born January 15, 1954 in Germany, a daughter of the late William Russell and Geneva Jackson Russell. She worked as an office manager with Fort Roofing and was an Avon and Plexus Consultant. She was a loyal member of Miles Road Baptist Church, and lived her life to serve the Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, Marshall Strickland of Summerville, Mary leaves behind her daughters, Mary Ann McCray (Allen) of Moncks Corner, Fredda Summers of Summerville, Angela Garrick (Lemuel) of Andrews, Kimberly Ann McGrew (Jerry), Kimberly Phillips and Crystal Strickland (Jason McGrew) all of Summerville; sister, Betty Tedder of Dillon; mother-in-law, Mildred Simmons of Ayden, NC; sister-in-law, Patricia Haddock (Steve) of Vanceboro, NC; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, William and Geneva Russell; brother, Larry Russell; sister, Janet Russell; and father-in-law, Shady Strickland.
