Mary Reilly Obituary
Mary C. Reilly died May 8, 2011. Mary was born in the Bronx and lived in Bronxville NY. Mary was the devoted daughter of the late James and Mary Reilly. She was the devoted sister to Frank (Agnes), the late Tom (Sharon) and Jim (Mary). She was a loving and caring Aunt to Tom, Terri, Peggy, Maureen, Becky, Jim, Sharon and Mary and to many great nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by many friends. A graduate of St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School, and the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Bronx New York. Mary retired from a fulfilling career as a Teacher and Administrator of the New York City Public School System. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Bronxville, New York. Mary enjoyed reading, traveling, poetry, theater, art, music, decorating and her Irish Heritage. She and her courage, spirit and love of life will be missed by her family and many friends. Visitation at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, 2-4 & 7-9 Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph's Church, Bronxville 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 13. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

I was stunned to learn today of the death of my friend Mary. She was a woman of exceptional integrity in all phases of her life. Mary was lovingly dedicated to family and friends, both in this country and in Ireland. She bore her infirmities of the past years not only with great dignity but also with a sense of humility. She did not pity herself and kept a sense of quiet humor through it all. Mary was truly a warm and gentle woman whose beautiful spirit will remain alive in our hearts. Living at a distance, as I do, I have missed seeing her as frequently as in the past. That sense of loss has become more profound today. May she rest in peace.
