Mary Ann Mims GOOSE CREEK - Mrs. Mary Ann Mims, 74, widow of Hubie Eugene Mims, residence Goose Creek, SC entered into eternal rest on Saturday July 14, 2012 at her home. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Mary Ann Mims are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at one o'clock p.m. at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from five until seven o'clock p.m. at the funeral home. Mary Ann was born November 5, 1937 in Griffin, GA to the late Fred Purmort and Bernice Thompson Purmort. She was a member of the Red Hat Sweet Magnolia Chapter, the North Charleston Ladies Auxiliary, the Charleston Wayfarers Camping Club and Yeaman's Park Presbyterian Church. She loved fishing, hanging out with her friends at the Waffle House, and homemade boiled peanuts, Westerns and Elvis. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, a very humorous and Cool grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, a son: Michael E. Mims and his wife Penny of Charleston, SC, daughters: Cynthia "Cyndi" Mims Fritz of Germany, and Debbie Copeland and her husband Michael of Goose Creek, SC, grandchildren: Justin Mims, Melissa Mims, Christopher "Chris" Copeland and Lauren Copeland, and great grandchildren : Miles Copeland and Marcie Copeland. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Hubie E. Mims and a sister, Jacqueline Owens.
