Mary Limehouse Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Limehouse Charleston - Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Karchner Limehouse entered her eternal home Tuesday, October 25, 2022, surrounded by her family. A native of Charleston, Betty was born May 11, 1930, a daughter of George S. Karchner and Mary Margaret O'Connor. Betty graduated from Bishop England High School class 1949 and married Robert Clyde Limehouse in June of that year. Her life centered around her family- her three girls, later followed four grandsons and finally seven great-grandchildren. Betty was a true, gentle lady in every sense of the word. She worked for South Carolina National Bank and retired from what became Wachovia Bank after 25 dedicated years of service. Her retirement years were filled with doing things with her grandsons and following their sporting activities. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for her family's early years. Later she joined Blessed Sacrament Church, where for many years she was a team member of the Perpetual Adoration Society. Betty is survived by her daughters, Linda L. Jowers (Henry), Nancy L. Morrow (David) and Deborah L. Peeler; grandsons, J. Michael Black (Cynthia), D. Jennings Morrow (Lucy), J. Griffin Morrow (Brittany) and D. Kyle Peeler; great-grandchildren, Davis, Megan and Addie Black, Isabella Grace, J. Griffin, Latham and Etta Morrow. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 28, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island. The family will receive friends at the home of Nancy and David Morrow following the services. The family would like to thank the ladies who helped with their Mom's care these past three years- Kymn, Sherline and Ruth.
