Mary Hoffman Obituary

HOFFMAN, Mary Mary Alma Roueche Hoffman, 90, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, August 09, 2006 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Hoffman lovingly devoted her life to her family who were equally devoted to her Mrs. Hoffman was born October 18, 1915 in Rowan Co., she is the daughter of the late Henry Bernard Roueche and Effie Mae Morton Roueche. Educated in the Salisbury city schools, she graduated from Boyden High School She was preceded in death by her husband David Robert Hoffman on Dec 31, 1952 and brothers,- Fred, Bernard, Paul and Dave Roueche. She is survived by sons David and wife Anne Melton Hoffman, Jerry and wife Christie Watson Hoffman all of Granite Quarry; and daughters Carol Byrd and husband Guy of Charleston, SC, Mary Ruth Penley and husband Russell of Isle of Palms, SC, Peggy Hoffman of Salisbury, Gloria Perez and husband Ramon of Monterry, Mexico. She is also survived by sisters, Christine Murphy, Vivian Brincefield and Martha Foster of Salisbury and brothers Bob Roueche of Gaffney, S.C. and Joe Roueche of Chattanooga, TN. Mrs. Hoffman leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great grand children. She was a devout lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salisbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Alejandro Ayala and Rev. Thomas P. Clement officiating.
