Mary Hildebrand Obituary

Mary Jane (Ash) Hildebrand, 89, Inverness, passed away on a beautiful spring day on March 13, 2013, surrounded by her family and the staff of Hospice of Citrus County at New Horizon's Senior Citizen Home.
Mary Jane was born June 7, 1923, in Phoenix, Ariz., to the late Gerald L. and Mercedes (Meux) Ash. She was a Miami pioneer, who saw the city in its infancy. She graduated from Ponce de Leon High School and enjoyed sailing on Biscayne Bay. She was employed as a teletypist at the historic Pan Am Sea Plane Base in Coconut Grove on Dinner Key. Mary Jane relocated to Inverness in 1987. She was a talented artist and member of the Citrus County Art League, where she taught others portrait painting and received many local art show awards for her work. She was Catholic by faith.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Mary Jane Brooks, Staten Island, N.Y., Delores "Lori" Weyrick and Cheryl Hildebrand, both of Miami; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles B. Hildebrand, on Jan. 31, 2006; and her brother and sister.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the wonderful caregivers of Hospice of Citrus County and the New Horizon's Senior Citizen's Home. Graveside committal will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. The procession to the cemetery will form at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory at 1:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Mary Jane's memory to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.

Condolences to Cheryl, Tiny, Lori and Laurel. I enjoyed reading about her very interesting life. I will be forever grateful for all of the times that she took us to Matheson Hammock and let us spend countless summer hours collecting "Sea Creatures" . I am sure she is in a better place now and that you are blessed with another guardian angel. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Heartfelt sympathy.
