Mary Catherine Taylor Richberg Herrick CHARLESTON - Mary Catherine Taylor Richberg Herrick, age 66, widow of William M. Herrick, Jr. of Summerville, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 after an illness associated with kidney disease. Born in Johnsonville, SC, the daughter of the late Dalton Ernest and Lucille Altman Taylor, Mary Catherine grew up in Johnsonville, SC and graduated from Johnsonville High School. She moved to Charleston, SC, and married Robert H. "Buddy" Richberg, Jr. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingsburg Baptist Church in Kingsburg, SC. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Mrs. Herrick is survived by three sons: David Richberg of Kuwait, Scott Richberg (Lisa) of Charleston, and Kevin Richberg (Maureen) of Hanahan; one step-daughter: Jennifer Jones of North Charleston; one step-son: Tim Herrick (Jessa) of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Riley Herrick, Taylor and Emily Jones, Eli and Emma Richberg and Anna Margaret Richberg; two brothers: Johnny Taylor of Statesboro, GA and James Furman Taylor of Asheville, NC; and two sisters: Jeanette Bennett of Johnsonville, SC and Angie Poole of Lake City, SC. She is also preceded in death by both husbands: Robert H. Richberg, Jr. and William M. Herrick, Jr.; a sister: Patricia "Patsy" Dennis and a brother Ervin R. Taylor. The family would like extend special thanks to Valerie Singley and Rosa Law. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00pm, McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel, 869 St. James Avenue. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00am, Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Kingsburg Baptist Church located at 1730 Old River Road Johnsonville, SC 29555. Burial will follow at the Lake Chapel Cemetery in Johnsonville, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Hospice of Charleston, 4975 LaCross Road Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29406 or the National Kidney Foundation - South Carolina Region, 508 Hampton Street Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201.
