Mary Herndon Obituary

Mary Joyce Herndon Ridgeville, SC - Mary Joyce Herndon, 88, of Ridgeville, SC entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 5, 2016. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon, December 9, 2016 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church at 2 o'clock. Burial will follow at Herndon Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 - 8 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Mt. Tabor UMC of Ridgeville, P O Box 193, Ridgeville, SC 29472. Born Mary Joyce Drake to the late Nash Drake and Kathryn Johnson Drake on January 9, 1928 in rural Millen, GA. She was married to the late Edward Jacob Herndon from 1946 to 1988. She was a retired homemaker and a member of Mt. Tabor UM Church. She is survived by 7 children, Ronnie Herndon (Peggy), Dianne H. Ferguson (Donald), Jack Herndon (Sadie Ann), Harley Herndon, Sr. (Janet), Byron Herndon (Karen), Teresa H. Breaker (Victor), and Mishell H. Warner (Fred). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The Herndon family wishes to extend special thanks to Daisy Pringle, Lil Brown, and Peggy Herndon, caregivers.
