Mary Grimes Obituary

Mary Catherine Grimes, 85, of Ladson, SC, entered into eternal rest on October 30, 2025.
Born on March 27, 1940, in County Clare, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Martin Harte and Mary Harte. Mary later met the love of her life, Larry Grimes, in London. They were married for 58 years, traveling to many countries all over the world.
Mary was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, where she found comfort and strength in her Faith. She worked for Sam's Club for over 20 years, where she was known for her kindness and hard work. Mary was an avid reader and loved entertaining. She was an excellent cook as well.
She is survived by her loving son, Paul Grimes and daughter-in-law, Sarah; her grandchildren: Rory Andrew Grimes and Dorothy Maura Grimes; as well as her sister, Ann Harte. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Grimes; her husband, Larry Grimes; as well as her brothers: Patrick Harte and John Harte.
A visitation of family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, beginning at 11:00am at St Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
