Mary Green Obituary

Mary Cody Green DANIEL ISLAND - Mary Cody Green, 87, of Daniel Island, SC, widow of the late Kaye Carl Green, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022 after her battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Born December 27, 1934 in Memphis,Tennessee, Cody was the daughter of the late Vestel Gladys Gray Kirby and the late George Waldrop. She graduated from Memphis Technical High School in 1952 and was a successful and well-liked student. Early on, she developed a love of the aviation industry and was an avid pilot, flying single and twin engine aircraft. She worked various jobs within the industry. She enjoyed traveling and learning about other places and cultures. She was an animal lover having many furry four-footers over the years from horses and goats to dogs and cats, mostly rescues. Being an enthusiastic reader, she loved a good mystery, which she always shared with her friend. Cody was an active member of Unity of Mount Pleasant. Cody was predeceased by her brother, Robert Hindman. She leaves her niece, Judy C. Craig (Bob), great-nephew, Curt Craig (Becca), great-niece, Carol Ann Garrett (Barry), nephew, Jeff Hindman (Tanya), step-sons, Stephen Green (Carol), Mitchell Green, Jeffrey Green, and grandchildren Ashley G. Bracken (Brett), Austin Green, John Green, and her beloved dog, Moxie. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Roper Hospice, especially Cody's nurse, Teresa, who provided loving care to Cody and guidance, and the staff at Roper Hospice Cottage in Mount Pleasant for their compassionate care of Cody, and her family and friends during her final days. We suggest memorials go to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston
