- Mary Alice Ferguson, 82, of Goose Creek, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Lowcountry Community Hospice House after a brief illness.
Mary served as an English and Drama teacher for fifty years in both Charleston and Berkeley Counties, as well as in Oklahoma and Missouri. A woman of deep faith, she had a great love for her students, along with the performing arts, but next to her love of the Lord, she had no greater love than that of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles W. Ferguson; her three daughters, Jeanette Henderson, of Hanahan, SC, Leslie Whitten of North Charleston, SC, and Gwendolyn Ferguson of Goose Creek, SC; two granddaughters, Bethany Perea and Bailey Delgado; and four great-grandchildren.
A private burial was held at the National Cemetery at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC on March 17, 2026. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Centerpoint Church at Remount on April 6, 2026 at 7 p.m.
