Mary Condy Obituary

Mary Lou Zacharias Condy DALLAS, TX - Mary Lou Zacharias Condy (age 84) passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Dunkirk, NY on December 29, 1930. After attending SUNY Brockport College, she married Robert Condy in 1951. In her early years of their marriage, Mary Lou taught at Cardinal Mindszenty HS, in Dunkirk. Their growing family moved several times, before settling in Tappan, NY. Besides raising 7 children, she was a PE teacher at Rosary Academy in Sparkill, NY and a records manager at a law firm in Manhattan. She and Robert retired to South Carolina and were active members at Christ Our King Catholic Church. The constant stream of children and grandchildren visiting brought her great joy. And she was an avid tennis player to the age of 80. Her seven children survive her: Susan (John) Neely, Roberta Wallace, Jane (Steven) Circh, Patrick (Katherine) Condy, Mary (Keith) Mitchell, Michael (Julie) Condy, and Margaret (James) Brennan, 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Condy and her mother Amelia Zacharias. The family will celebrate Mary Lou's life with a visitation on 4/19 and funeral on 4/20 in Dallas. http://bit.ly/1OfqdB4 A special celebration will be held in South Carolina this summer. Mrs. Condy was an extremely talented teacher. She was able to take me, a student at Rosary Acaademy, who had very little athletic ability and make me feel as thought I was athletically talented. My best memory was when we learned how to do the balance beam. It was scary but she made learning fun! God Bless You!

As a freshman at Rosary in 1977, I had the great pleasure of having Mrs. Condy as a gym teacher. She had a bright smile, she was energetic, and demanded we try hard. She was a great role model for young ladies. She has left a great legacy for her family and others. My prayers for her and her family.

Dear Sue and John: Please accept Peggy and my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. While we never met her but there always seemed to be a bond because of the similarities of the size and closeness of Peggy and Sue's family. You and your family are in our prayers.

There are those whose lives affect all others around them. Quietly touching one heart, who in turn, touches another.Reaching out to ends further than they would ever know..(William Bradfield).(something I'm sure your mom did)
I am so sorry Margaret to hear about the loss of your mom.

Mary Lou, there are just so, so many great memories & stories to tell. But, I think my fondest memory is of the many mornings sitting on the screened in porch with Sue & I, sipping a coffee, talking about just everything & anything. Topped Off with a couple tries on the Lottery Scratch Cards.
They were Great Days! Love & Miss you.

Dear Jane and Family,
It is with great sorrow that I learned your mother had passed. The conversations we have had about her decline in recent months worried me, and as I feared it was the end. You and your family certainly know that a woman of her vibrancy would not have wanted to linger in such a state. As it is so hard to lose a parent, you know that she is now no longer suffering physically or mentally. You need to take your memories and celebrate her every day in some small way. Never having met her, I can only surmise that she would have wanted you to do so. Fondly, Kathy & Peter Morris
