Mary Blume McMurray Bruce REEVESVILLE, SC - Mary Blume McMurray Bruce, 88, widow of Newton Brooks Bruce, of 1625 Flatwoods Road, Reevesville died May 10, 2014 in the Vibra Hospital of Charleston in Mt. Pleasant. Graveside funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Monday in the Reevesville Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Scott Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church recreation hall. Mary was born May 5, 1926 in St. George a daughter of the late Lee Dawson Blume and Mary Gavin Harper Blume She was a graduate of St. George High School and was a retired employee of Dorchester County Health Department and she was a member of Reevesville Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter Virginia Bruce Carroll, Ladson; sons, Floyd Dallas (Sonny) McMurray, Jr., Kingsland, GA, Darryl Bruce McMurray, Columbia; Grandsons, Jason Robert (Trisha) Hartley, Aiken and Benjamin Lee Risher of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was predeceased by a daughter, Miriam M. Bradford, and siblings, Lee Dawson Blume, Jr., Marguerite B. Rickborn, Holcombe Harper Blume, and Mercedes B. Gay.
