My condolences go out to the Heyward and Bell families in their time of sorrow. Lou was family to us and no visit back to my parents' home in the Pineland was complete without Lou coming by and giving the "news" and making us laugh. I still find it hard to believe that she is no longer with us. She was very kind-hearted and loved to help others whenever possible. Lou will be missed very much.

Belle
Lou is in a better place right now
Than she’s ever been before;
All pain is gone; she’s now at rest;
Nothing troubles her anymore.
It’s we who feel the burden of
Our sadness and our grief;.
We have to cry, to mourn our loss,
Before we get relief.
We know we’ll reconnect with her
At the end of each life’s road;
We’ll see her cherished face again
When we release our earthly load.

We can’t comprehend just how sad you must feel For the loss of someone you love.
This sorrowful time must still feel unreal And you’re looking for strength from above.
We hope, from my heart, that your pain will decrease, That your spirit will gain strength again, And we pray that your faith will create inner peace
And that God will send blessings your way. We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers May God bless you...

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Heyward and Bell Family,
My heart is aching with pain and my eyes are weeping with tears. Lou was such an inspiration to me. She never complains about anything. She embraces the spirit of God with her whole heart. When ever I visited home and ran into to Lou, she had such kind words to say. She always expresses her love for God. What a great spirit she had. Wesley has lost a jewel and I have lost a spiritual friend.

Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

To the Heyward & Bell Family,
Ms. Heyward as I affectionately called her was a very sweet person whom really loved the Lord and his people. I was shocked to find out how ill she was, she was the patient I looked forward to reviewing labs with because if something was wrong she would tell me, "man Melissa, momma cooked cornbread or lima beans and I had to have me some." "Big Wesley" has lost a jewel, whenever I would talk to her, she was always talking about what she was going to do at church. She was truly a great servant. We are going to miss her at Hollywood Dialyis, but we are assured she is in a better place. Family, Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding, for God knows best.

To The Heyward & Bell Family;
Lou was always a sweet and kind hearted person. We always so the God in her. Her little light shined as we walked the halls of Baptist Hill High School. God saw on Friday that he was ready to take her home because her flower was ready to be picked. Family God only takes the best. Lou would say weep if you must because Jesus weep but keep those fond memories and let me go. God will continue to bless your family and will not put more on you than you can bear. May God continue to smile on your family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
