Mary Lou Barnett SUMMERVILLE - Our beloved Mary Lou Barnett, affectionately known as "Nanny", entered peacefully into eternal rest on her 78th birthday on January 21, 2012 at the home of her daughter. Mary's children, grandchildren, and other family members were at her beside at her passing. Mary was born on January 21, 1934 in Union, SC to Susie Parham Green and Lawrence Parham (both deceased). She was married 50 years to Gerald W. Barnett (deceased). Mary is survived by her children, Ronald Barnett and wife, Janet of Lafayette, LA, Karen Melan and husband Terry (who she called her 2nd son) of Summerville, SC; Mary's siblings include Margie Green of Cope, SC, Eddie Parham of Jamestown, NY, Howard Parham of Lawton, OK and Sandra Parris (deceased) of Granite Quarry, NC. Her grandchildren include Ronald Barnett, Jr., Belinda Schell, Lisa (Bobby) Taylor, Stevie (Kelly Sanders) Melan, Angel Barnett, Crystal (Kevin) Hamner and Jessica Barnett. Nanny had 13 great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, January 24, 2012 at Summerville Cemetery at 11 o'clock. Visitation will be held at Parks Funeral Home Monday evening from 6 - 8 o'clock. Mary Lou was known for her kind heart and putting all others before her own needs.
