It saddens me greatly to stumble upon this obituary. Growing up down the road from Aunt Mary, she was like my second mother. What an amazing person. I feel blessed to have known her and to have grown up with her girls.

I'm so sad to hear this news. She was such a kind person and always so good and welcoming to me. I admired her for working so hard as an ER nurse and I tell my nursing students about her from time to time. I'll always remember her.

To the entire Atkinson Family, Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your wonderful Mother. Am very proud to have been compared to her over the years when my nephews discussed who the biggest baby stealer was: their Grand Mary or Auntie Shell. May wonderful memories comfort you in the days and years ahead. All my love.
