Mary Archer Obituary

Mary "Sue" Brown Archer MAGNOLIA, NC - Mary Sue Brown Archer, 82, of Magnolia, entered heaven's gates triumphant Friday, January 11, 2013. Mrs. Archer was born March 30, 1930 in Morristown, TN to the late William Henry Brown and Hester Carter Brown. She was the wife of the late Frederick "Fred" B. Archer. Mrs. Archer was a member of the United Methodist Church, in Magnolia, NC since 1965, where she served the Magnolia United Methodist Women as former President, Treasurer and Secretary. She was also Sunday School Superintendent and teacher and Parsonage Committee Chair. She was a former member of the Bethesda Methodist Church, Jonesborough, TN. She served on the Magnolia Rescue Squad and was a member of the Magnolia Civic Club where she served as President, Treasurer and Secretary. She served as Magnolia Town Commissioner for two terms. Sue was former owner of the Archer House. Mrs. Archer is survived by son, Jerry Archer and Karen of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Judith A. Taylor-Jackson and Skippy of Faison; grandchildren, Melissa Taylor and Brian, Henry Taylor, Fred Archer, Cameron Archer and Jennifer; step-grandchildren, Shawn Jackson and Ronda, Warren Jackson and Shannon; and great grandchildren, Jude Walker, .Jaden Archer, Conner Archer, Cassie Daniels, Caegan Jackson, Cameron Jackson and Colt Jackson; special care giver, Christine Faison. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Archer was also predeceased by brothers, Elmer "Buster", James"Jimmy", and Sam Brown and sister Dorothy Brown Moyer. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Community Funeral Home in Warsaw, NC. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, in Community Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow the service in Devotional Gardens.
