Marti will ways be apart of so many fond memories of my youth. Starting with being roomates in nursing school, to marriages, as young mothers, and to second marriages, and growing family circle.
In sickness and in health Marti was always in the game of living to the fullest.
Miss you girlfriend!

Scott, such a loving family, Sara and I were so fortunate to attend the celebration of Marti's life last year in Charleston. It was wonderful to spend private time with Martha, you, and your precious daughters, in laws, and grandchildren. Seeing Beth and Alissa and Kelly all grown up as engaging, mature adults was great. Our first memories of them were as toddlers.
The icing on the memory cake for us was when the four of us spent a laugh full weekend at the Rahway reunion visiting the old neighborhood.
Our deepest sympathy and with all our love,
(Cousins) Carl and Sara Orton Glickman

Dear Scott,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in your time of sorrow. Martie seemed so filled with life in our memory and such an active person in life's endeavors. We are so sorry not to be able to attend the viewing or funeral as Joan (92) had a compound break of her right leg and is not quite able to attend. However, we hope to catch up with you in days to follow. Your family were so important in presence when Stut died, and we are sorry not to be with you now. With love, Joan and Barbara Stutler

Dear Scott,
My humble condolences to you and all of your beautiful family and Martie's many friends. You are in my and Charlotte's thoughts and prayers during this sad and difficult time.
To me, while funerals are occasions to say goodbye to a loved one, in a very real sense, we continue to relish the departed in her siblings, offspring, and fond memories. Most importantly, her mark is indelible and lasting in the beauty and love she imparted to this fallen and tormented world.
As John Keats so eloquently put it in his beautiful Endymion:
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
I firmly believe that your and Martie's love and its glorious produce will endure throughout eternity; hence, my dear friend, I pray that this and the loved-ones gathered about you during this sad time will not only see you through, but propel you in the love that you and Martie will share for eternity.
Your classmate,
Steve Sponar

Carolyn and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family over these next few very tough days. Martie will be greatly missed at Tailgates, reunion planning meetings, ball games and general Citadel and Hibernian gatherings. What a great lady with a tremendous heart and what a fight she put up. Carolyn and I will always remember her as a great example of someone who knew how to deal with adversity and remain a true lady during the process.

We usually think of time as a river, a river like the Mississippi, with strong, swift currents bearing us further and further away from what we have been and towards a distant time. But perhaps we should think of time as a deep, still pool rather than a fast flowing river. Instead of looking back at time, we could look down into it, and now and again different features of the past - different sights and sounds and voices and dreams would rise to the surface: rise and subside, and the deep pool would hold them all, so that nothing was lost, nothing ever went away. With love, Bob T.
