Martha Rooke Obituary

ROOKE, Martha Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of July 29, 2005, Martha Barton Rooke, wife of Charles E. Buddy Rooke. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Rooke are invited to the funeral services of the latter in Citadel Square Baptist Church Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at two o'clock. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Monday between six and eight o'clock. Mrs. Rooke was born May 15, 1941 in Elberton, Georgia, a daughter of Roscoe L. Barton and Marjorie England Barton. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern College and member of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society, Alpha Rho Chapter. Mrs. Rooke was a retired teacher from James Island Charter High School, a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church, and a member of the American Cancer Society. Surviving are her husband of Charleston, SC; her mother of Elberton, GA; three daughters, M. Allison Rooke, Elizabeth Rooke Morris, and Cheryl R. Lewis and husband, Gray M., all of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Colin Rooke Morris, Morgan Elizabeth Lewis, and Victoria England Lewis; one brother, Bill Barton and wife, Diana, of Marietta, GA; and a niece, Deborah P.
