Martha Cromer Obituary

Martha Ellen Cromer Charleston - Martha Ellen Cromer, 91, died peacefully Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Wellmore of Daniel Island in Charleston, SC. Miss Cromer was born November 19, 1931 in Kingstree, SC, the daughter of the late Lindsay Harper Cromer, Jr. and Myrtle Bernice Askins Cromer. She graduated as Salutatorian of her Class of 1949 at Kingstree High School, attended Coker College and graduated from Carolina College of Commerce. Miss Martha Ellen was a former employee of the Army Corps of Engineers and retired from the Internal Revenue Service, working several jobs until she was eighty years old. She was a 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed international travel, sewing, reading, gardening and being with her younger cousins. Miss Martha Ellen is survived by numerous cousins, including: Rebecca Avrett, Debbie Garland, Jerianne Peele, Patty Biggerstaff, Peyton Avrett, Will Avrett, and Austin Avrett; and godchildren, Lori Anne Mann, Mary Kneece Lane, and Rande Allen Lane. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Williamsburg Cemetery on East Main Street in Kingstree.
