Martha Bass Obituary

BASS, Martha LOUISBURG, NC - Martha Jean Bass, 70, of 980 Sledge Road, Louisburg, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at her home. She worked at Pitt Memorial Hospital in the beginning of her career. After moving to Louisburg she was a nurse at Franklin Regional Medical Center and the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center until her retirement. Her hobbies included being an avid reader, she enjoyed crochet, and working with Meals on Wheels serving the Bunn community. She attended Bunn Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lancaster Funerals and Cremations with Rev. Tom Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hope Memorial Gardens. Surviving: sons, Charles B. Bass, Jr., and wife, Donna of Louisburg, John David Bass of Summerville, SC, Randy H. Bass of Louisburg; sisters, Doris Patrick and husband, Collins of Summerville, SC, Sara Bell Clayton of Summerville, SC, Jewel Long of Summerville, SC, Eugenia "Jennie" Varner of Columbia, SC; brothers, Joseph Marian "Sonny" Cone and wife, Florence of Summerville, SC, Murray Cone and wife, Bertie of Summerville, SC, Allan Cone and wife, Frances of Summerville, SC, Paul Edwin Cone and wife, Pat of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Charles Ryan Bass, Matthew Steven Bass, and Sean Paul Bass; and two special friends, Wendy Watkins and Gale May. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., at Lancaster Funerals and Cremations, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Franklin County Meals on Wheels, 127 Shannon Village, Louisburg, NC 27549 or to Bunn Baptist Church, 205 E. Jewett Avenue, Bunn, NC 27508.
