I remember meeting Barbara on Easter Morning during Sunrise service at Wesley United Methodist Church, Hollywood. She did the prayer for our service. As she was praying, it really touches my heart and the only thing that I could say is “God let me meet this lady after the service.” I remember some of the words that she said in her prayer “Let God into your heart, Open the door and invite HIM in. These words remain with me to this day. As I greet her after the service, that smile was so radiant that it flows right through me.

I, too, grew up in Morris Brown AME, and I will always remember hearing Mr. Mitchell read the announcements and seeing him smile. He will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Mitchell's death. As a child I attended Morris Brown AME and remember him as a man with a gentle soul and smile. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.
