Know that he is still at your side and forever watching over you. Thank you for sharing him with all of us who grew up in Morris Brown; truly a man of God. GOD is with you.

I remember meeting Barbara on Easter Morning during Sunrise service at Wesley United Methodist Church, Hollywood. She did the prayer for our service. As she was praying, it really touches my heart and the only thing that I could say is “God let me meet this lady after the service.” I remember some of the words that she said in her prayer “Let God into your heart, Open the door and invite HIM in. These words remain with me to this day. As I greet her after the service, that smile was so radiant that it flows right through me.

I, too, grew up in Morris Brown AME, and I will always remember hearing Mr. Mitchell read the announcements and seeing him smile. He will be missed.

Tammy, stay strong and know that God and time heals all. I will always remember how Mr. Mitch teased me.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Mitchell family. I have attended Morris Brown AME all of my life and he was an active and vibrant part of our church family. He will be sadly missed.

Tammy, you don't remember me, I took care of your first baby at Roper Hospital. I attend Morris Brown, your father talked about you a lot. He loved you very much. He was a kind man. He will be missed. May God hold you steadfast in His arms.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Mitchell's death. As a child I attended Morris Brown AME and remember him as a man with a gentle soul and smile. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.
