Mark Madden Charleston - Mark Thomas Madden, 69, of Charleston , South Carolina, passed away on November 12, 2018. He was born on October 3, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Nellie Kurtz and Robert Madden. Mark was survived by sisters: Margaret Madden of Charleston, SC; Mary M. Fryar( Curtis) of Charleston, SC and Catherine Peirano of Goose Creek, SC; brothers: Tim Madden (Diane) of Nantucket, Mass., Greg Madden (Lisa) of Charlottesville, Va. He was predeceased by sister: Patricia M. Beach; and brothers: Robert Edward Madden, II and Paul Madden. Also, brother-in-law Joseph Edwin Peirano. Mark at the age of 15, suffered a severe Tramatic Brain Injury after being struck by an intoxicated driver. Mark spent the next 53 years knowing his life would have been better. Even so Mark never lost his quick wit, always trying to get a laugh.... a talker and a flirt. Mark loved numbers to the point of being a bit of a savant and he loved to show off this ability. The family will receive friends on November 15, 2018 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM at McAlister- Smith Funeral and Cremation. A memorial service will be held at 7:00PM to 8:00PM on November 15, 2018 at McAlister- Smith Funeral and Cremation, 347 Folly Rd, Charleston, SC 29412. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roper Hospice Cottage, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 or Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Rd., N. Charleston, SC 29406.
