Marion Burbage Obituary

Marion Henry Burbage CHARLESTON - Marion Henry Burbage, 69, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 29, 1948, in Charleston, SC, to the late William ("Junior") Augustus and Annie L. (Branton) Burbage of Ravenel. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Paul's High School in Yonges Island. He dedicated his life operating the family business Burbage Meats in Ravenel, SC. Marion was a true outdoorsman, an avid deer hunter and member of Barn Hill Hunt Club. He was also a 12-year heart transplant recipient. In addition to his mother, Marion is survived by his two daughters, Felecia (Scott) Hodges of Charleston, SC, and Melissa Burbage of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, Ian Woods, Lacey Hodges, Haley Hodges, Chloe Spence, Richard Spence, III, Leah Estrada and Jon Estrada; one great-grandchild, Allyssa Postell; two brothers, Donald William (Harriette) Burbage and William Augustus (Carroll) Burbage, III, one niece, two nephews and two aunts. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Ravenel, 5987 SC-165, Ravenel, SC 29470, on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Family will greet friends and relatives from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a brief memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ravenel, Cemetery Fund, PO Box 129, Ravenel, SC 29470.
