Marilyn MacKendrick Obituary

Marilyn E. MacKendrick (King) Summerville - Marilyn Elizabeth MacKendrick (King), age 88, of Summerville, South Carolina, died peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2022. She was born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania on January 3, 1934 to the late Jack Whitfield King and Elizabeth Ann Witherow. Marilyn was retired from the Steadman Law Office in Erie, PA, and served several years as President of the Girard School District School Board. She was known for her quick wit and strong-willed personality. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed genealogy. Marilyn is survived by her four children, Chris MacKendrick (Sharon) of Lake City, PA; Randy MacKendrick of Saint Clairsville, OH; Mark Olay (Debbie) of Tehachapi, CA; and Merry Stokes (Dean) of Phoenix, AZ. She was a proud grandmother of four, Heather Harpst (Josh) of Willow Spring, NC; Tara Markham of Mount Pleasant, SC; Gray and Brenna MacKendrick of Summerville, SC; and several great-grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by her sister, Marcie Rakieski of Ridgway, PA and one brother, Thomas King of Ridgway, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, James R. MacKendrick; her brother, Jack King of Pittsburg, PA; and two of her children, James "Jay" MacKendrick of Erie, PA and Marcelle E. Olay Halliday of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services will be private.
