Marie Fern Rose Mt. Pleasant - Marie Fern Rose, of Mount Pleasant, SC, wife of the late Daniel Thompson died Saturday, July 8, 2017. Her memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 20, 2017, in the community room of Sandpiper Village, 1224 Village Creek Lane. Burial services will be at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Marie was born October 27, 1924, in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of the late Earl and Margaret Gillett. A longtime resident of Winter Haven, and she was a retired office manager at Orange Products of Bordens, Inc. She attended Eastbridge Presbyterian Church while she was in Mt Pleasant. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann Thompson Hemingway (Ronald) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two brothers: Earl (Bud) Gillett and Conrad (Connie) Gillett, both of Fort Madison, Iowa; four grandchildren: Wendy Hook (Seth), Eric Hemingway (Melanie), Mandy May (Bryan), and Lindsay Wensel (Scotty); nine great-grandchildren: Mallory, Darby, Jensen, Peyton, Kaelyn, Andrew, Alexandra, Connor and McKenzie. Memorials may be made to the Missions Fund at Eastbridge Presbyterian Church, 1250 Lexington Dive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466 and/or Hospice of Charleston Inpatient Center, 4975 LaCross Road, Suite 200, North Charleston SC 29406-6531.
