KOHN, Marie Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of March 8, 2009. Marie Claire Kohn. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Friday, March 13, 2009 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL at eleven o'clock. Interment, Red Bank Cemetery near Swansea, SC. Friends may call at Stuhr's Downtown Chapel Thursday between five-thirty and seven-thirty o'clock. Marie was born December 19, 1914 in Columbia, SC, the daughter of John Terry and Maria Martin Terry. She was the youngest of eleven children growing up on their farm in Columbia. She attended Dentsville High School before coming to Charleston and working at the Charleston Cigar Factory. She also met her future husband in Charleston. He was in the U.S. Navy and this took them to California. Marie was in sales most of her time in California and eventually owned a hotel news stand and then a gift shop. She returned to the south to be closer to family in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. She was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church and before retiring, took care of the sweet infants in the church daycare. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Kohn of Charleston, SC; step-son, David Kohn and his family and several sweet and precious nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by an infant son and her sisters and brothers. She was a most very sweet and beautiful lady who will be so greatly missed. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Citadel Square Baptist Church, 328 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29403 or Winyah Community Hospice Care, 4055 Faber Place Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405. Dear Barbara,

I am so sorry to hear about great Aunt Marie. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know all to well how it feels to loose a parent. I am grateful to see that she lived a long life. I just found out today from my sister Grace De Zern. I miss you soo much and have not been able to find you. I send you my love and I hope to hear back from you. There is soo much to catch up on. Forgive me, I am so excited to be able to communicate with you.

My dear sweet Barbara,
What joyful memories of lots of laughter, giggles and surprieses we shared. You two are the joy of my heart. Mom and I reminise often. A Beautiful, thoughtful, thankful lady of Gods' true blessings on earth. Thank you for being a part of my life.
