Marie Gainey Obituary

Marie McManus Gainey BONNEAU, SC - Marie McManus Gainey, 92, of Bonneau, SC, died Tuesday morning at her residence. Her funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2015, in the First Baptist Church of Bonneau. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, N. Charleston, directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening. Mrs. Gainey was born December 7, 1922, in Bath, SC, a daughter of Charles C. McManus and Lula Tolbert McManus. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bonneau, and a charter member of Remount Baptist Church, where she served as WMU President and taught Sunday school while attending both churches. Mrs. Gainey was also a member of the Bonneau Civic Club. Surviving are, a daughter, Linda M. Massey of Bonneau; three sons, Stan L. Gainey and his wife, Debbie, of Gastonia, NC, Chuck B. Gainey of Summerville, and Mike S. Gainey and his wife, Bonnie, of Huger; a brother, Gus McManus of Hanahan; eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
