Marian Bovie Obituary

Marian Louise "Lou" Evans Bovie MT. PLEASANT - Marian Louise Bovie (nee Evans), aged 94 of Mt Pleasant SC, died peacefully on Friday, Jan 24, 2025. Lou was a firecracker, full of life and energy, although small in stature her personality filled the room. She was born in Jackson, Ohio in 1930, where she survived the depression and the death of her father at age 4. Lou married her childhood sweetheart, Fred, the boy across the street. She was a high school drum majorette and the first female life guard at the town pool. She attended The Ohio State University, then took a job at American Airlines as a flight attendant. That job was one of her life's greatest joys. She made many friends in the Kiwi Club (retired flight attendants) and spent many enjoyable years taking travel agents around the world. Lou loved to laugh, paint, play tennis and golf, spend time with her family, drink a cold Coca-Cola and watch The Ohio State football. She is survived by her daughters, Sally Hume of Skillman, NJ (Emmett) and Rebecca Wright of Isle of Palms, SC (Peter) and her 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Daniel, Cara and Nicholas. Lou was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Barbara Sue Bovie and husband, David Frederick Bovie. She will be missed dearly, and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know her. The family will hold private services to honor her memory. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting www.jhenrystuhr.com.
