Marguerite Gregory Obituary

Marguerite Pettey Gregory, known as "Baby Girl" to her friends, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009, at her home in Greenwood.
Graveside rites will be held at 11 am today at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Dr. Jim Phillips will officiate at the services. The family will receive visitors at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home from 9-10:30 am.
Mrs. Gregory, 85 , a lifelong resident of Greenwood, graduated from Greenwood High School in 1942, where she was Miss G.H.S., secretary of her senior class, and head majorette. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and The University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas R Gregory, Sr.; sons, Tommy Gregory, Jr., and his, wife Susan, Bob Gregory and his wife, Peggy, and Jim Gregory. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Anna Gregory, Thomas Gregory III, Malone Gregory, Durden Pillow, Elizabeth Pillow, Rob Hamrick, and Chip Hamrick, and one great grandchild, Charlie Hamrick.
She was a charter member and past Secretary of North Greenwood Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Jessie Larry, Trennetta Holmes, Mary Johnson, and Nancy Harris for their loving care of Mrs. Gregory during her later years and a special thank you to Virlee Johnson for her service to the family over the years.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Stuckey, Bill Brown, Parker Johnson, Dudley McBee, Clint Guenther, Chuck Lamb, David Hicks, and William Leflore.
Memorials may be made to the North Greenwood Baptist Church television ministry or to the donor's choice.
