Marguerite Cook Obituary

Marguerite "Retesie" Chandler Cook KINGSTREE, SC - Marguerite "Retesie" Chandler Cook, 66, of Kingstree passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Roper Hospital in Charleston after an illness. She was born February 13, 1947, in Hemingway, SC and grew up in the Stuckey community. She was the daughter of Mrs. Sara Cook Chandler and the late Fred Davis "Doc" Chandler. She graduated From Indiantown High School and attended Palmer Business College in Columbia. She was a bookkeeper with Santee Electric Cooperative in Kingstree and retired after 33 years of service. She was a member of Kingstree First Baptist Church. Ms. Cook was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her grandson was her pride and joy. She treasured family and friends and enjoyed sharing good times with loved ones. Surviving are her mother Sara Chandler of Stuckey; son, Chandler "Chad" (Natalie) Frierson of Mt. Pleasant; grandson, Chandler "Chase" Frierson; brother, Davis "Spud" (Yvonne) Chandler of Johnsonville; nephews, Franklin Chandler and Charles Chandler; and many loving cousins. She was also the godmother of Gabrielle Wingate of Kingstree. She was predeceased in death by her husband Ronald H. Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, January 20, 2014, at Indiantown Presbyterian Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the church cemetery. The family is receiving guests at the home of Sara Chandler in Stuckey and having formal visitation from 4:00PM - 6:00PM Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Morris Funeral Home, 416 N.
