Margie Singletary Obituary

SINGLETARY, Margie Margie Carraway Singletary, of Ladson, S.C., 61, died Saturday, January 1, 2005. Born November 14, 1943, in Coward, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Obed Mango and Lela Miles Carraway. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.E. and Robert Carraway. Mrs. Singletary was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of nine years, Ronald Singletary; two daughters, Lynda Kaczenas of James Island and Melondy Strong of Ladson; her brother, Jesse Carroway and his wife, Sandy of Coward, S.C.; two sisters, Ann Kelly of Coward, S.C., and Lazette Ousley and her husband, Raymond of Douglasville, Ga.; and her sister-in-law, Rose Carraway of Lamar, S.C. She will be deeply missed by her ten grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her first husband, Henry Perry Strong. The family will receive friends Monday, January 3, 2005, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10360 Highway 78, Summerville. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Summerville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation), 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 400, Kansas City, MO 64114 or to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, Bank of America Building, N.
