Margie Cox Obituary

Margie Quarles Cox AUGUSTA, GA - Mrs. Margie Quarles Cox, 85, beloved wife of the late William Snowden Cox, entered into rest on Friday, January 9, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Brian LaFavor officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Cox was born in Augusta to the late Fred L. and Margaret Craft Quarles. She was a long-time member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church where she enjoyed volunteering. Mrs. Cox loved to bake and cook. She will be remembered as a friend to all who met her. Mrs. Cox is survived by her brother-in-law, Charles Cox, Sr.; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Cox Martin, Merle Cox, and Jackie Cox; two special nephews, Stanley Cox (Alyse), and Wayne Black (Sharon); several other nieces and nephews; and her special friend and caregiver, Tim Hudson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her sisters, Jewel Johnson and Louise Black; and her brothers-in-law, Leonard Cox, Harold Cox, Donald Cox, and Tony Martin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. If so desired memorials may be made to Crawford Avenue Baptist Church, 507 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, GA, 30904. A very lovely couple when they were our patients at Dr. Blitch's office. I was very fond of both of them. I met them when we were up on Winter Street and then down at University Med Center. Many years and fond memories. God bless.
