Margie Brown Obituary

Margie Morris Brown Edisto Island - Margie Morris Brown, 82, wife of Steve E. Brown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021. She peacefully died surrounded by family at home on Edisto Island. Her funeral service will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 at 12:00 PM in Ashley River Baptist Church with visitation at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Live Oaks Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. Margie "Tootsie" was born February 12, 1939 to Hughie Oscar Morris & Annie Marie Browder Morris in Andrews, SC. She was child number 10 out of 11 & grew up working the farm. She fell in love with Steve & they were married for 64 years. She spent most of her years as a homemaker & childcare provider, affectionately known as "Aunt Tootsie". She joined Ashley River Baptist Church in the early 1960's & enjoyed worshiping with her church friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, & friend. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 daughters - Darlene Sabback (Gary), Deborah Walsh, & Diane Tanner (Tim); 8 grandchildren - Jason Sabback, Jonathan Sabback (Angela), Jade Thorn (Jesse), Jennifer Walsh, Amy Murray(Eddie), Orlando Smith, III (Emily), Ty Tanner, & Steven Tanner; 8 great-grandchildren - HayLi Kostas Sabback, Eli & Vera Thorn, Dylan Walsh, Hannah & Jackson Vanbarriger, Ford Murray, Orlando Smith, IV; brother, J.B. Morris; sisters-in-law, Gail Morris & Joan Morris. She was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Smith & son-in-law Orlando Smith,II; 6 brothers - Oscar Morris, Thomas Morris, Marvin Morris, David Morris, Walker Morris, R.C. Morris; 3 sisters - Rossie Morris, Mary Hancock, & Joann Mixon. Memorial donations may be made to Ashley River Baptist Church or Piney Forest Baptist Church.
