Margaret Zobel CHARLESTON - Margaret Zobel, 95, of Charleston, wife of the late Robert Hampton Zobel, Sr., entered into eternal rest Sunday, November 2, 2025. Affectionately known as "Big Momma," her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Arrangements will be made by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Margaret was born on March 5, 1930, in Haines City, Fla., to the late Jesse Dasher Waters and Ruth Alma Lee Waters. She is survived by her daughter, Penny Massey (Craig), who was her best friend and devoted caregiver; two sons, Robert Zobel, Jr. (Marty) and Larry Zobel (Kathy); nine grandchildren: Hap Lempesis (Laura), Jess Lempesis (Lea), Porter Massey (Jen), Bebe Z. Pickett (Tim), Robby Zobel, III (Casey Chance), Travis Zobel (Lisa), Allison Z. Anderson (Jay), Lawren Z. Carter (Corey), Katy Z. Quirk (Michael); and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Zobel; grandson, Craig Massey, Jr.; and seven brothers and sisters. Of the many joys she treasured in life, her greatest was caring for her family. Big dinners and holidays, beach houses in the summer, and attending all the milestones of her children and grandchildren were the things that were most important to her. The impact she had on so many friends and family will be missed by all. Sad to say, she took her shrimp dip recipe with her.
