Margaret Voorneveld Obituary

VOORNEVELD, Margaret Margaret Rita Burke "Maggie" Voorneveld, 87, died May 25, 2008, in Gainesville, FL. Mrs. Voorneveld moved to Gainsville in 1976 from Long Island, NY. She was a homemaker, and a volunteer at Gainesville Catholic Charities for 18 years, as well as Volunteer Coordinator, past President of the Catholic Charities, a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and served on the First Parish council. She was a member of Golden Gaters, and active in the organization of the Annual Bishop's dinner. Mrs. Voorneveld is survived by her sons, Albert "Skip" and wife Paula Voorneveld, Jr. of Long Island, NY, Richard B. "Chip" Voorneveld of Charleston, SC, John T. and wife Sue Voorneveld of Gainesville, FL, grandchildren, Laura, Gregory, E. Corrie, Brice, Kathryn, great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jack, Simms, Kierstin, Bellamy, and Edward. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 12:30 p.m., at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with Fr. Jeff McGowan as celebrant. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 29, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home West Area, 823 N.W. 143 Street.
