MALCOLM, Margaret Margaret La Rue Clements Malcolm, 87, of John's Island, widow of Nathaniel DuBois Malcolm, Sr. died Friday , December 28, 2007. A Remembrance Service will be held at the next regular meeting of Respite Care Ministries at the Church of Our Savior 4416 Bohicket Rd. John's Island. 768-2046. Mrs. Malcolm was born in Ray City, Georgia on April 15, 1920, a daughter of Eugenia Watkins Clements and Lucius J. Clements. She graduated from Ft. Meade High School, Florida State College for Women (FSU) and received her Masters Degree from NYU. As an Associate Professor of Physical Education at Florida State College for Women, Margaret founded the synchronized swimming team and choreographed the first joint music / physical education dance concert at the College. She also taught Physical Education in Portsmouth, Virginia for the City School District. She is survived by her sons: Nathaniel DuBois Malcolm, of John's Island and Lucius James Malcolm, of Athens, GA; her grandchildren: Myriah M. Upton of Neosho, MO. Jamison Malcolm of Philadelphia, PA and Nathaniel D. Malcolm of Athens, GA; and her great grandchildren: Alyssa, Alivia and Jayden Upton all of Neosho, MO. Arrangements by JAMES A.
