Margaret Evans Dupree Charleston - Margaret Evans Dupree, 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Jerome "Jerry" L. Dupree died Monday, January 8, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Bethany United Methodist Church, 1853 Maybank Highway, James Island at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Margaret was born November 30, 1922 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Theodore Evans and Lottie Myers Evans. She graduated from Rice Business School and was a Past President of the Charleston Exchange Club Auxiliary. Margaret was a woman of strong faith. She had a deep appreciation of nature and loved the beach and the marshlands. Margaret was an avid gardener. She was a good cook and loved cooking for her family and friends. Often sharing some very creative recipes. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Dupree of Mount Pleasant, SC and Mary Frances Gaines of Cottageville, SC; son, Jerome L. Dupree, Jr. of Cottageville, SC; two grandsons, Gabriel C. Magee and Daniel L. Gaines, Jr. and one great grandchild, Jean Lusk and great-great grandchildren.
