Just would like Margaret's family to know I was so sad to learn of her passing. She was the most pleasant person to speak with and was very helpful to me when needing day care information. A few months back I did have the opportunity of meeting the pleasant voice on the other end of the phone at a training in the Charleston office.
My prayes are with you at this time.

There is so much I'd like to say that it's hard to know where to begin. Margaret was there to hold my children when they were born. We've given each other a shoulder when we've needed one. She had strong shoulders, and she needed them to be strong because she gave them freely to so many people. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond belief, and her devotion to her work at DSS was endless. As co-workers we saw a decade of weddings, births, and funerals together, and I realized just how much I would miss her when I tried to think of who I wanted to call to make me feel better today. I thought of Margaret.

Jimmy & Allison,
I was devastated to hear of your Mom's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her and her sweet smile. While this time can't be easy, I pray you will find peace in the wonderful memories you have forever in your heart.

I'll miss Margaret's laugh and getting a chance to just chat about nothing in particular when I call the Charletson office. But what I'll miss most of all is her dedication to her job. She wanted things to be right, and if she made a mistake, it upset her greatly. That's truly a unique and admirable quality. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Margaret & I always thought we were kindred spirits, since there was only a day apart in our birthdays. We immediately hit it off when we met. She always had a laugh to share with someone. We had been through many of life's experiences & relied on the other's shoulder for comfort. There is a void in my heart that was Margaret's place. She will be missed very much. When I call the Charleston office I will miss her voice on the other end. JImmy & Allison, your mom talked about you so often & she was always sharing about the grands, I felt that I knew each of you from your mom. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.

Margaret meant so much, to so many people. She was my colleague and my friend. Margaret was one of the people in the office who could always make me smile and kept us all laughing. She was a hard worker and cared about what she was doing. The support she provided her co-workers and child care professionals has had an immeasurable impact on maintaining the health and safety of the Lowcountry’s children. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, whom she loved and spoke of often. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Margaret many times through the course of our workday. She spoke fondly of her family and coworkers and was always willing to help out in any way she could. Margaret touched the lives of many of us here at DSS, even if we never had the opportunity to meet her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends during this sad time.

Margaret was one of the first to greet me when I arrived at DSS with the child care licensing program - and one of the first to wish me well when I retired! To her family - thanks for sharing her for these years. She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed every day by all who knew and worked with her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Rita Paul, Columbia

Margaret was a joy to know. As a former co-worker, she and I chatted many times on the phone. She was always helpful and cheerful. She will truly be missed by DSS staff and the child care providers she assisted.

I wanted to let the Dorothy Family know how much Margaret was loved around the state by her DSS Family. I occupy the same position in the Greenville Office of Child Care Licensing. I always looked to Margaret as a mentor in my job, even though we were separated by 200 miles. Her smile and youthful exuberance always gave me comfort. Charleston has lost a great citizen.
