Margaret P. Beckmann CHARLESTON - Margaret Caroline Petit Beckmann, 96, widow of John William Beckmann, died Friday, April 18, 2014. The relatives and friends of Margaret P. Beckmann are invited to attend her funeral service at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 24, 2014, from the chapel of the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 5:00 & 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered at www.JamesAMcAlister.com. A native of Charleston, Margaret was born November 15, 1917, a daughter of George Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Godfrey Petit. She is survived by her daughter, Mabel M. Moriarity; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 4248 Dorchester Road, N. Charleston, SC 29405. JAMES A.
